Paris for kids with the TGV!

Discover Paris

08/10/01

At last... a Paris City Guide for 7-12 year olds! Ideal for discovering the city and enjoying travel, on foot, by bike or by train...

OK, what kind of visit do you fancy, kids? A boat trip on the Seine, a birds-eye view, or an artistic tour of Paris? Choose between 6 different explorer's trails, and follow Alex and Maya, your guides. If you take the artistic tour, you will come across a certain Mr Guimard and his "art nouveau" metro entrances. Have fun with the columns designed by Daniel Buren in the gardens of the Palais Royal. Stop for a drink at the iconic "Wallace" drinking fountains (that are becoming an endangered species) and hang out at the multi-coloured, multi-cultural Pompidou Centre.

Make your own scrap book. This book is not just any old city guide - it's your personal guide! Turn it into a scrap book, telling the story of your trip, with keepsakes like museum tickets, photos and drawings. Then test your knowledge with the Paris quizzes and games.

The first in a big collection! After regional guides to Normandy, Brittany, the Atlantic coast and Provence-Côte d'Azur came out in April, here is the first "Graines de Voyageurs" city guide. It's also the start of a new partnership with TGV, aiming to give children a new perspective on travel - fun, original and educational.

The guide came out on 15 September and retails at €13.90 in various high-street and internet outlets (FNAC, Virgin, Cultura, La Grande Récré, Nature et Découvertes and amazon.fr). It is also on sale in the Relay stalls in stations and will soon be on offer on the TGV.
